How to Use Stuffed Animals to Decorate Your Child's Room

October 10, 2020 by Marshall Wheeler

Many parents get annoyed with the many stuffed animals that their children tend to collect over the years. There is a way to keep them organized and use them to educate your child at the same time. Below you will find a few ideas and suggestions that may prove to be helpful.

The first thing that you can do, which is something that I have done for years is to use an old shoe rack to organize your child’s stuffed animals. In order to make sure that they do not fall off the shoe rack we use little velcro tabs. You can find the velcro tabs at your local arts and crafts store. You can get a pack of velcro and then simply tie them around the arm or leg of the stuffed animal. Arrange the stuffed animals as neatly as possible on the shoe rack. Then when your child wants to play with one they can take off the Velcro and play with their animal. When they are done they should get into the habit of placing them back on the rack.

Another suggestion is to put up some shelves in your child’s room and use the bears to decorate the shelves. To make them a little more unique you can put pictures in between each of the stuffed animals. This is a great way to use the bears if your child is getting older and they are no longer playing with the stuffed animals. Next on the list of creative ways to decorate your child’s room is to place a hook in each corner of the room. You can use plastic hooks that can be easily removed when you no longer want them hung up. You can find these at your local arts and crafts store or your local home supply store. Once you have the hooks up you can get four old hats. Perhaps a few hats that are too small for your child. Then place the stuffed animal inside of the hat. If the animal is too big for the hat you can still squeeze them inside. Then take some colored yard and tie it around the hat. Use a glue gun to secure the yarn to the hat. You will need a few drips of clue on the hat and then place the yarn on top of the glue spots. Then allow it to dry. Once the yarn is secure turn the hat over and stuff the bear inside You can then tie the loose pieces of the yard to the hooks. This is a nice and creative way to display stuffed animals and add a little something extra to the room décor.
